  Silicone rubber refers to a rubber whose main chain is composed of silicon and oxygen atoms alternately, and two organic groups are usually connected to the silicon atom.   1. Electrical performance. Silicone rubber has excellent insulation properties, as well as corona resistance and arc resistance.

  2. Physical and mechanical properties. At room temperature, the physical and mechanical properties of silicone rubber are worse than those of general-purpose rubber. However, at a high temperature of 150 ° C and a low temperature of -50 ° C, its physical and mechanical properties are better than general-purpose rubber.

  3. Oil and chemical resistance. Ordinary silicone rubber has medium oil and solvent resistance.

  4. Gas permeability. At room temperature, silicone rubber is 30-50 times more permeable to air, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases than natural rubber.

  5. Physiological inertia. Silicone rubber is non-toxic, odorless, odorless, non-adhesive to human tissues, has anticoagulant effect, and has very little reactivity to body tissues. Particularly suitable as a medical material.

  6. Material hardness. Silicone rubber can theoretically be selected between 10 degrees and 80 degrees according to the Shore hardness in the domestic market. It can easily be found in 20 to 70 degrees, and the most commonly used is 40 to 50 degrees.

  7. High temperature performance. The remarkable feature of silicone rubber is its high-temperature stability. Although the strength of silicone rubber is only half that of natural rubber or some synthetic rubbers at room temperature, it can still maintain a certain degree of flexibility and resilience in high-temperature environments above 200 ° C. Elasticity and surface hardness without significant changes in mechanical properties.

  8. Low temperature performance. The glass transition temperature of silicone rubber is generally -70 ~ -50 ° C, and the special formula can reach -100 ° C, indicating its excellent low temperature performance. This is of great significance to the aviation and aerospace industries.

  9, weather resistance. The Si-O-Si bond in silicone rubber is very stable to oxygen, ozone and ultraviolet rays, and has excellent weather resistance without any additives.

  Classification of colorants:

  Rubber colorants use only insoluble water and solvents called pigments, and do not use water-soluble and organic solvent-based dyes. As a rubber formula designer, they should be distinguished. Pigments have no affinity for any different rubber grades. It uses the mechanical pressure, kneading and shearing action of the rubber mill to disperse the pigment particles in the colored compounded rubber compound, so that the compounded rubber produces a predetermined required color.

  In latex products, the process of adding inorganic pigments to latex [natural latex and synthetic latex and artificial latex] is completely different from that of dry rubber. It cannot be added in the form of dry powder to natural latex and synthetic latex and artificial In latex, the powdery pigment colorant, together with a small amount of osmotic dispersant, stabilizer and deionized water, is formulated into a 20% or 30% water dispersion, and then ground by a grinder to achieve a settled value. After the amount is measured, it can be added to the latex or vulcanized according to the designed mass parts. The total solids content of the pigmented aqueous dispersion must not be too high, otherwise the grinding and dispersion effects are not good.
